Our Story:

And really, it wasn’t much good having anything exciting like floods, if you couldn’t share them with somebody.”

―A.A. Milne,Winnie-the-Pooh

And, that’s exactly what we're doing… sharing the discoveries we made navigating unexpected health, financial, business and relationship challenges, the floodwaters of the past 20 years of our lives together.

Cancer, bacterial meningitis, endometriosis, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, anxiety, Lyme disease, depression, digestion disorders, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder - these and others including financial loss and business setbacks are included in our 'resume' of life experiences that we have overcome.

But, if we didn't choose to learn from them - evaluating and learning effective decision making skills, we would have stayed stuck and hopeless. We all have choices. It is the one power that we have that directly affects the direction and quality of our lives. But, how can we change?

We are all about helping others who are looking for answers. We went outside the box and discovered a New way to evaluate and make progress with these difficult events.  Mind Models help us to function in different parts of our brain, enabling us to avoid judgement, blaming and constantly asking 'why'.  Mind Models enable us to focus on living in the present - we cannot change the past or the future - but we can change ourselves in the present.

Vital Health's definition:  Vital = full of energy, lively, essential to optimal function. Health = being free from illness and injury.  Key areas where health is needed include:

1. Our physical body's function.  2. Our mental / mind function.   3. Our decision making process. 4.  Spiritual.  Our continued growth to know and live according to the Truth of Scripture.   All 4 of these are vitally important.  But if we are only healthy in our physical bodies but ignore our mental health and our decision making process we are going to be in trouble.

For example: Our body - Disease management by symptom management was not effective for us. Uncovering the root cause is the key.  A person can lose their identity and freedom when they give themselves over to the medical establishment to help them with their chronic disease.  (The medical model is best equipped to address acute or surgical needs.)

Instead our health journey has taught us that 'Real Health' is found when 5 key areas are addressed.

  1. 1
Your mind-body connection. Learn and apply Mind Models to develop new problem solving, new decision making and new relationship building skills.
  2. 2
Reduce your toxic load. ( Avoid processed / precooked foods, fast food restaurants, sugar in any type of beverage or food.)
  3. 3
Consuming whole foods (Real Food) – vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds and sprouts in their least processed form. Free of toxins, GMO’s and soy. Consume grass feed beef, organic chicken and wild caught fish.
  4. 4
Add specific super nutrition supplements (third party certified) that are toxin free blends of vitamins, minerals, nutrient-dense superfoods, essential omega-3 fatty acids and powerful enzymes.
  5. 5
Regular exercise that is at least 20 minutes a day / 5 days a week.

Setbacks, failed expectations and challenges are inevitable.  The question is, what steps will you take to learn HOW to think and make decisions that take you forward?  VS Taking no action, OR repeating the same mistakes over and over again and again?  We have a superpower. It's called choice.  You can choose to stay in the same place. OR you can choose to find a path forward and improve your health, your relationships and your business.  It's up to you.     ~  Lynn and Patty McClurg and Family

Our Purpose:

To provide exceptional health and wellness resources & education.  To equip you to live a vitally healthy life - physically, mentally, relationally and decision making.

By Shannon: our daughter's story on life these past 15 years.

We are still here.  We invest in our health with the gift of every breath. Our heart is to serve and educate you with what we discovered on our journey.  The wellness journey can be just plain hard, requiring tough commitments, discipline and difficult changes. It is a journey best walked with someone who gets it.

My golf-loving Dad was a respiratory therapist turned entrepreneur / business owner.  He spent 30 years in the trenches of business, sales, marketing and executive leadership to provide for us.

My pug-loving, bookworm Mom, worked as a Registered Nurse for 30 years while raising my two older brothers and me along with helping Dad in business. She also did care-giving for sick family members and battled a variety of autoimmune illnesses.  She tirelessly researched alternatives and sought out-of-the-box remedies that might make an impact on the un-well people in her life.  At that time, I was such a person.

This jaundiced, C-section baby, turned dancing 'circus-monkey’, kept it all inside for 14 years. Then my body finally blew a fuse and I thought my life was over. Teenagers tend to feel that way, but for me it was a reality. Everything I knew, loved and wanted to get out of life was systematically stripped away. I was very sick, and my sick was full of mysteries.

By 19, I was zombie sitting at home sinking into nothingness. Doctors declared me a lost cause. Being medically written off was an emotional death sentence for a kid who wanted to live.  I felt like I’d be good for nothing as my body held on. Turns out, according to Winnie the Pooh, I was right.

“People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.”

―A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh

Today I’m in the best shape of my life thanks to practicing being resourceful that the Mind Models taught. Add determination, persistence and the abundance of resources and education we discovered. Healing is a journey and not without challenges. The fight to get my life back had the positive effect of building my faith in God, my courage and my determination. I gain ground and vibrancy one day at a time.

“The things that make me different are the things that make me - me.”  ―A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh

Our struggles brought us together.  It was a battle.  We’re continuing to learn, adapt and grow.

“Now then, Pooh," said Christopher Robin, “Where’s your boat?”

“I ought to say," explained Pooh as they walked down to the shore of the island, “that it isn’t just an ordinary sort of boat. Sometimes it’s a Boat, and sometimes it’s more of an Accident. It all depends.”

―A.A. Milne,Winnie-the-Pooh

So whether you’re on top, underneath, or supporting someone by walking beside them, we’re all in to help you learn, adapt and grow by practicing Mind Models, being resourceful, and constantly evaluating  what's working and what's not and what to do differently.

Through the unique educational resources we have gathered into our boat, or learned from our accidents, it is a privilege to share these VitalHealth Resources.

We thank you for caring and invite you to come along with us on this life-long adventure of learning, where we hope to make the world a better place.

“I knew when I met you an adventure was going to happen.”

―A.A. Milne
